Silver Spring has one of the longest-established Korean-American communities in Maryland — predating the suburban Korean migration to Rockville, Ellicott City, and points west. The Silver Spring branch of the Korean Community Service Center (one of five KCSC regional offices) continues to serve the community, and H-Mart and Lotte Plaza both have nearby locations.
